About The Horsemans Playground
When it comes to riding and eventing experience, it could be said that Bruce Hughan has gathered several lifetimes worth of knowledge.
Bruce grew up riding stock horses and has competed in polo cross, campdrafting, fox hunting, dressage, cross-country and show jumping, including one-star level eventing and mini Grand Prixes. He’s led pack tours across Victoria’s High Country, and once provided a royal horse escort to Prince Charles and Princess Diana. He qualified as an equestrian coach through Equestrian Australia, and worked with the largest Clydesdale breeder in the southern hemisphere. He has caught and broken wild horses, and ridden in military parades for the Australian Army and ANZAC events in the heart of Melbourne. Bruce has also ridden on the big screen for the film The Lighthorsemen.
Today, Bruce and his team apply his experience to provide incredible horse and carriage ride experiences throughout the beautiful forests and winery regions of north east Victoria, including Milawa, King Valley, Rutherglen, Glenrowan, Wangaratta and Beechworth.
Bruce also provides expert training for people and their horses. He specialises in breaking and re-educating difficult horses of all breeds, with a considered approach that’s tailored to each animal and their rider. His coaching expertise encompasses all facets of riding, from beginner levels to advanced horsemanship.
